News
I know, it has been a while already (phew... over two months!)
Added "MaskerAid" to the programs-section
MaskerAid is some sort of "Camouflage"-like clone, only faster and better (in my humble opinion ;-)
These are the statistics at this moment:
- Main-page visitors: 1196 (I should've thrown a party when it reached the 1000)
- WaveMP3 visitors: 6027 (It's really a popular application... ;-)
- CGI540 visitors: 920 (Not bad for such a user specific service !)
- Guestbook entries: 13 (Never thought it would really be used)
- And off-course I had a lot of visitors that don't even know they contacted me, thanks to Nimda and friends :-(
See you in a next life...
Yes, I'm still here ;-)
Updated IceRecorder, now it's version 1.0 Build 92 Beta
No other real updates, other than that the war in Iraq now has started; but I guess
you've already noticed it on the news.
I don't think my HomeServer is the place for any political issues, so I won't
give you my opinion on the subject here...
These are the statistics at this moment:
Until a next time...
I know, it's been a while since I've updated my site, but I'm still here (hurray!).
Updated my "Programs"-page: it now isn't just a copy of my MP3Cutter-page anymore
but a real page with a few applications I've written listed, including the official release
of IceRecorder: an IceCast/ShoutCast MP3-stream player/capturer.
Okay, some stats:
I've removed the soundcard from the server, because I needed it somewhere else
and a few weeks ago my ADSL download speed increased from 512 to 768 kbit/s.
I'm sure I am forgetting to mention some updates, but this should give a little impression.
Cya next time.
Sunday, December 22, 2002:
Nearly 200 real visitors now (194 to be exact)
This is mainly caused by readers of an article where one of my programs (WaveMP3) is described
Take a look at the article here
(The WaveMP3 page counter is now at 368!)
I've just put another self written database on-line: TopCharts
This database holds chart listings from the Dutch Top 40
The same rule as to the MP3 Database applies here: the songs cannot be downloaded!
Sunday, December 8, 2002:
I just had my 100th real visitor (wow!) from a Deutsche Telekom (Germany) dial-in user
Updated some typo's on some pages and updated some web-log scripts (unaccessable without password)
in my administrator section
(Why am I telling you that? Well I'll need to say something...)
Monday, November 18, 2002:
Made my MP3 Database available, but the songs can not be downloaded
for two obvious reasons:
- I'm affraid I will be experiencing some problems with the BUMA
(the Dutch IRAA) for violating some laws
- Great chance I'm gonna get a terrific trafic increase
(by some few thousand percent)
Wednesday, November 13, 2002:
Updated my CGIUnit and added a webcounter "script" to my Delphi-sources page
Wednesday, November 6, 2002:
I know I should have made the first entry to this news-section when I made
my HomeServer public, but I didn't come to it 'till now.
Made some Apache configuration error: .exe files could not be downloaded
(the IPP540 program "setipp.exe" in the HAM section) -> fixed.
I already had about 25 real visits (WOW!) since I put my server on-line
and really a lot of visits from that horrible Nimda-virus!
(If I would receive an eurocent for every Nimda visit, I would be a millionair by now.)
Anyway... a few days ago I switched "servers"; in the beginning it ran on an old
Compaq DeskPro 486 66MHz, now it's a "blazing fast" Pentium 233 MMX !
Okay, it has 256MB memory (way too much) and a nice 40GB harddisk, but at least
my CPU monitor (homemade and written LCD at the front) doesn't have to puke anymore.
On the Compaq it reached the 100% when only serving 1 client.
Okay, this is the set-up:
Connection:
- ADSL (512 kbit down / 128 kbit up, will be upgraded in a few weeks time)
- Alcatel SpeedTouch Home (Ethernet) Modem (tweaked firmware)
- Trust 8 + 1 port hub with coax connection
To be honoust: the webcam isn't connected yet, because I used the
on-board LPT-port for my LCD.
I have a (very old) ISA printer adapter lying around, but haven't put it in yet.
(I guess it's an old SPP version :-( so I'm looking around for another).
Also because I'm serving from the attic of my home, with only a small window (30x30 cm)
in the roof, I don't know where to aim it at...
The main problem is that the camera cable is only about 50cm long and the server
is placed in one end of the attic and the window at the other end.
